Certifying conformity of translations
Where to apply?
You can apply at a selected Polish consular office, which provides translations from the language of the document.
Do I have to apply in person?
You can submit the documents personally or send them by post.

What documents do I need to submit?
Please prepare the original document and its translation.
Please note:
- the consul certifies translations of documents from English / French into Polish and from Polish into English / French,
- the consul can certify a legible and reliable translation,
- the translation does not have to be made by a sworn or professional translator in order to be certified.
How much does it cost?
The fee is listed in Consular fees section.
The fee should be calculated per each commenced page of the translation.
The fees must be paid at the office counter when submitting the application. Accepted forms of payment: cash, money order, certified bank check (credit cards, debit cards or personal checks are not accepted). Consulate General in Toronto accepts debit and credit cards except American Express.
What is the waiting time?
The consul certifies translations without undue delay, but not later than 30 days from the filing date.
How to collect the documents?
Personally. You can also ask to have the documents delivered by post if you pay the postage.
How to appeal?
If the certification is refused, the consul will issue a decision. You can appeal against the decision to the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. You can lodge the appeal through the consul who had issued the decision.
