Petitions

Pursuant to the Petitions Act of 11 July 2014 (Journal of Laws 2014.1195), a petition may demand, in particular, a change of the law, a resolution or other action addressing the matter related to the petitioner, public life, or values requiring particular protection for the sake of the common good, falling within the tasks and competence of the petition’s addressee. Whether a letter is a petition is determined by the content of the demand, not its external form.
A petition is filed in writing or by electronic means.
A petition should include:

  1. identification of the entity filing the petition; if the entity filing the petition is a group of entities, the petition should indicate every one of the entities and the person representing the entity filing the petition;
  2. specification of the place of residence or the registered office of the entity filing the petition and its correspondence address; if the entity filing the petition is a group of entities, the petition should indicate the place of residence or the registered office of every one of the entities;
  3. identification of the petition addressee;
  4. specification of the petition’s subject matter.

A petition can include a consent to disclosing on the website of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector the personal data of the entity filing the petition or the entity on behalf of which the petition is filed.
A petition filed in a written form should be signed by the entity filing the petition, and if the entity filing the petition is not a natural person or is a group of entities – by the person representing the entity filing the petition.
A petition filed by electronic means can include a secure electronic signature verified using a valid qualified certificate, and should include the e-mail address of the entity filing the petition.
A petition filed in the interest of a third party also contains the name and surname or company name, the place of residence or registered address, and the correspondence address or the e-mail address of the said party.


Petitions can be filed in the following manner:

  • within the working hours of the Mailroom of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate – Warszawa ul. Senatorska 12 room no. 28;
  • by mail to the address: Główny Inspektorat Farmaceutyczny, ul. Senatorska 12, 00-082 Warszawa with the note “Petycja” (Petition);
  • by means of the Electronic Inbox (ePUAP);
  • via electronic mail to the e-mail address: gif@gif.gov.pl
