International cooperation
The Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate is involved in international bilateral collaboration with competent authorities of various countries in Europe and the world as well as in multilateral collaboration by means of membership in international organisations or participation in working group meetings at these organisations.
The said collaboration involves the following pharmaceutical inspection matters:
- medicinal product and active substance manufacturing inspection;
- medicinal product distribution (wholesale trade) inspection;
- supervision over the trade in narcotic drugs and category 1 precursors;
- quality risk management;
- medicinal product quality defects;
- falsified medicinal products;
- supervision over medicines advertising;
- communication in a crisis.
Among the main collaboration partners are industry organisations, such as Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) or The Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA), but also international organisations that are involved in health care – United Nations, European Commission, or the Council of Europe.
Forms of collaboration
- participation in international programmes and projects (Twinning, TAIEX, developmental collaboration);
- personal participation of the employees of the Office in working group meetings, expert circles;
- personal participation of the employees in the work of committees and subcommittees;
- participation of the employees of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate in teleconferences and online consultations;
- correspondence.
