Vaccine supervision

The State Pharmaceutical Inspection supervises the quality of marketed medicinal products, including vaccines. Each report of a failure to meet medicinal product quality requirements is analysed and explained in order to evaluate the quality defect and assess the patient health and life hazards.

With patient safety and health in mind, the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector makes decisions within their competence in order to eliminate medicinal products failing to meet the quality requirements from the market.

The distribution of vaccines within the entire country as part of the Polish Immunisation Programme is coordinated and the units responsible for storing and providing vaccines to service providers are supervised by the Chief Sanitary Inspector. The tasks of the Chief Sanitary Inspector also include planning measures related to protective vaccination and supervising their execution.
