Official visit of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Cyprus

On May 16-18, the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Mrs Elżbieta Witek, pays an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus at the invitation of the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs Annita Demetriou.
The program of the visit includes meetings with the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs Annita Demetriou, Minister of the Interior, Mr Constantinos Ioannou, Head of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus Archbishop Georgios and Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs and of the Cyprus-Poland Friendship Group, Mr Harris Georgiades. Addressing the House at its plenary session is also foreseen. In addition, the Speaker of the Polish parliament, accompanied by her Cypriot counterpart, will visit a kindergarten for Ukrainian refugee children in Pyla and the ceasefire line in Nicosia.
Marshal Elżbieta Witek is accompanied by the Vice-chairman of the Polish-Cypriot Parliamentary Group, MP Marta Kubiak and the Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Mrs Agnieszka Kaczmarska, who has already met with the Secretary General of the House of Representatives, Mrs Tassoula Jeronymides.
The previous visit of the Marshal of the Polish Sejm to Cyprus took place in 2009.
