Piano recital on the occasion of the 214th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin's birth

To commemorate the 214th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin, on February 22nd 2024, a piano concert performed by the Polish pianist, Maria Gabryś-Heyke was held at the Shoe Factory in Nicosia.
Upon the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Mr Marek Szczepanowski, the event was attended by representatives of the Cypriot authorities, economic, scientific and cultural circles, the Polish community and the diplomatic corps. The Government of the Republic of Cyprus was represented by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Ms Vassiliki Kassanidou.
The event, in addition to its cultural values, was also an opportunity to express solidarity with fighting Ukraine, just before the second anniversary of the Russian full-scale agression. A commemorative poster was displayed in the concert hall, and among the invited guests was the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, who thanked for the support.
An exhibition showing the life and work of the greatest Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin and a print of the manor house in Żelazowa Wola was presented in the concert hall.
