Third day of the official visit of the Marshal of the Sejm Elżbieta Witek to the Republic of Cyprus

In the morning the Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland met with the Minister of the Interior, Mr Constantinos Ioannou with whom she exchanged views on the migration situation in both countries.
Following the meeting in the Ministry of the Interior, Marshal Elżbieta Witek went to the Holy Archbishopric in Nicosia where she was received by the Head of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, His Beatitude Georgios, Archbishop of New Justiniana and All Cyprus. Afterwards, Mrs Elżbieta Witek chaired the Polish delegation at the plenary consultations with the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs and of the Cyprus-Poland Friendship Group, Mr Harris Georgiades.
The next point was the floral tribute at the statue of St. John Paul II, located in the gardens of the Apostolic Nunciature, next to the Catholic Church of Holy Cross. On this day we celebrated the 103. anniversary of the birth of St. John Paul II.
As a paramount conclusion of the offcial visit to Cyprus, Marshal Elżbieta Witek addressed the Plenary of the House of Representatives.
In the evening the Speaker of the Polish parliament and accompanying delegation departed to Warsaw.
