Commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the plane crash in Slaglille

On 25 September, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Copenhagen, the Polish-Danish Association in Næstved and the Polish community together with local residents paid tribute to Polish airmen and members of the Christensen family who died in the plane crash on 17 September 1943.
The ceremony began with an ecumenical service, after which the participants laid wreaths and flowers on the graves of the Christensen family, and then, with the assistance of the Honorary Guard of the Danish Territorial Defense Rosenborg, on the graves of Polish airmen.
After the official part, the invited guests participated in a lecture and presentation by historian Jan Christensen on the history of the Royal Air Force during World War II, the participation of Poles in RAF flights and the circumstances of the tragic Halifax 309 flight.
