Jazz concert on the occasion of the Polish presidency of the Visegrad Group

On the occasion of the Polish presidency of the Visegrad Group and the 30th anniversary of the Group's establishment, on 7 December 2020 the special concert was held in Copenhagen. Jazz musicians from the V4 member states - the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary joined their forces and created V4 band.
The concert in Literatur Haus was launched by Mr. Mateusz Mońko, Chargé d'affaires a.i. of Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen. In the opening speech he referred to the idea of establishing the Visegrad group, the synergy stemming from the V4’s economic, cultural and political cooperation.
The band was created by musicians well-known on the Danish jazz scene: Czech saxophonist Luboš Soukup, Hungarian trumpeter Ábel Nyerges, Polish drummer Radek Wośko and Slovak guitarist Štefan Szabó. The musicians performed their own compositions, as well as the pieces of Polish jazzmen Krzystof Komeda and Tomasz Stańko.
The jubilee concert was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from the Visegrad Group countries in Denmark, as well as media and culture representatives.
