New Polish Films Festival at Cinemateket 6-24 May
12.05.2022
Ny Polsk Film Festival has been opened by the screening of the film “Silent Land” directed by Polish director Aga Woszczyńska.
On 6 May, Polish Ambassador to Denmark Antoni Fałkowski and Jesper Andersen from the Danish Film Institute have opened the festival of the new Polish films at the Cinemateket in Copenhagen.
During the opening event, the Danish audience could watch a powerful drama "Silent land", debut of Polish director Aga Woszczyńska about an accident that upends the summer holidays of a perfect couple who rents a holiday home on a sunny island. The reality does not live up to their expectations - from the first scenes, Woszczyńska establishes an atmosphere of dread. The film “Silent land” has been chosen as the film of the month by the Danish Film Institute and will be screened also after the Festival.
The programme of the overview presents the variety of the Polish movies, which gained popularity in Poland and were rewarded at international festivals, e.g. “Leave no Traces”, “Never gonna snow again” or “Cold war”. The festival will last until 24 May.
