OMN concerts at the I Djurs og Mols Festival

The Polish Orkiestra Muzyki Nowej (OMN) participated in the 10th jubilee edition of the I Djurs og Mols chamber music festival in Ebeltoft. In musical collaboration with Århus Sinfonietta and Ensemble Storstrøm - Danish Chamber Players, the OMN performed two concerts at the festival and presented to the Danish audience compositions by W. Lutosławski, K. Saariaho and P. Nørgård.
The first concert, with collaboration of OMN and Århus Sinfonietta, took place on 26 July in Maltfabriken. During the cello part entitled "Amers" by the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, the Polish-Danish orchestra was conducted by Aliisa Neige Barrière. The cello soloists were Safira Nielsen and Alja Mandic. Then, during the "Sinfonietta Elektronika" concert, the "NoaNoa" for flute with electronics was performed by OMN flautist Alicja Molitorys.
The second concert of OMN in collaboration with the Ensemble Storstrøm - Danish Chamber Players "Notes of the Night” was conducted by Aliisa Neige Barrière and the artistic director of OMN Szymon Bywalec. The Danish Jakob Kullberg was the soloist. Together, the musicians performed compositions by Kaija Saariaho, as well as "Dance Preludes" by W. Lutosławski and the piece "Nine Friends" by Danish composer Per Nørgård in a version for 9 instruments. The musical performance was complemented by illumination directed by Alexi Barrière. The concert took place on 28 July at the church in Dråby.
OMN's concerts as part of the I Djurs og Mols festival were supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen.
