Baltica 2 is one of the largest offshore wind power projects in Europe. The power plant is expected to reach a capacity of 1.5 GW and supply around 2.5 million Polish households with cheap electricity.

As the Prime Minister pointed out, 'Denmark is becoming the closest partner for Poland in various dimensions. Our cooperation is exemplary and is a model for other EU countries. I am glad that this also has a dimension in energy and investment, especially on such a large scale'.

The first energy in the project will be generated in the first half of 2027 and the whole project is scheduled to open in the second half of 2027. The investment will not only strengthen Poland's energy transition, but will also create thousands of new jobs during the construction phase and hundreds of permanent jobs after its completion.

The investment is part of Poland's wind power development plan. Over the next 15 years, domestic offshore capacity is expected to reach 18 GW and, as the Prime Minister points out, 'By 2040, Poland will be producing as much energy from wind as four nuclear power plants could deliver'.
