Webinar on game development

A presentation of the Polish and Danish game development industries, success stories from both markets, investment opportunities and trends, and support from industry and government institutions were presnted during the webinar held on April 29 as part of the Nordic Game Jam festival.

The webinar was opened by Mateusz Mońko, Counsellor at the Polish Embassy in Copenhagen, Marta Orlikowska, Head of the Foreign Trade Office in Copenhagen and Ulla Rønberg, Consultant for Creative Industries from the Danish Chamber of Commerce. During the introduction, the speakers presented the activities of state and industry institutions in supporting and promoting the industry. Counsellor Mateusz Mońko also stressed the solidarity of the game dev industry with Ukraine in the context of the Russian aggression. 
 
The first panel featured presentations of the Polish and Danish game development industries by representatives of the Indie Games Poland (Jakub Marszałkowski) and Vision Denmark (Jesper Krogh-Kristiansen), as well as success stories based on the development of the Polish company Techland, creators of The Dying Light game series (Tymon Smektala) and the Danish company Ghost Ship Games, authors of Deep Rock Galactic (Søren Lundgaard). 
 
The second part of the meeting began with a presentation of PAIH's (Wojciech Trusz) and the Danish Chamber of Commerce's (Ulla Ronberg) activities in the area of support for game development companies. Then Søren Lass (Interactive Denmark) and Łukasz Rosiński (Varsav Game Studios) presented the investment opportunities in game dev companies. The presentation from the investment area was complemented by a discussion between Radzym Wójcik (Baker McKenzie) and Michał Skuza (Trigon Investment) on current investment trends.
 
The meeting was moderated by David Guldager.

The webinar was simultaneously shown during the festival for game developers - Nordic Game Jam. Almost 60 participants took part in the online event.
