On 19 January 2022, ARP S.A. representatives handed a decision on business support to the head of Enchem Poland Sp. z o.o. The Korean concern will finance for 240 million PLN its new project, consisting in the production of electrolytic solutions used in car batteries. This will be the third largest investment of a South Korean company in the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone since the beginning of the Polish Investment Zone.

Throughout 2021, as many as 45 decisions to support new investments were issued in the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN, and a total of one hundred such decisions since the beginning of the Polish Investment Zone. The construction of the lithium production plant and installation at EURO-PARK Kobierzyce is further proof that despite the pandemic, the Polish economy is developing rapidly. This is the 6th investment of South Korean companies in Poland in 2021. In the past twelve months, companies from this country have already invested over 3.5 billion PLN within the Polish Investment Zone and created half a thousand new jobs

- said Grzegorz Piechowiak, Government Plenipotentiary for Foreign Investments and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Technology.

This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN. During this time, companies have invested 15.5 billion PLN in building, modernising and equipping production facilities. Entrepreneurs have created and maintained over 27 thousand jobs - said Cezariusz Lesisz, President of the Industrial Development Agency.

The South Korean company's investment includes the construction of a new factory and a lithium production facility.

Lithium salt is one of the main ingredients used to produce electrolyte for batteries, as well as for the production of batteries for electric cars itself. Due to the geopolitical situation and difficulties in accessing raw material on global markets, we will produce this component in-house. In this way, we will secure continuity in the production of electrolyte and, consequently, batteries, allowing for uninterrupted supplies to major customers - manufacturers of batteries for electric cars, including LG Energy Solution Wrocław Sp. z o.o. We will be the only producer of lithium salt in Europe,

- said Byung Won Lee, CEO of Enchem Poland Sp. z o.o.
