A comprehensive view of building renovation is not only an increase in the pace of thermal modernisation, but an approach to the construction sector as a whole, including through appropriate training or investment in innovation
- emphasised Deputy Minister Anna Kornecka.
Investing in renovation of buildings will not only benefit the construction sector and the economy as a whole, but will also improve air quality, the comfort of living in Poland and the health condition of its citizens. Renovation works generate jobs and demand for goods and services. They also increase the value of real estate
- added the deputy minister.
The aim of the Wave of Renovation Strategy
European Commission has developed a strategy for the renovation business to improve the energy efficiency of buildings across Europe. The Commission intends to increase the renovation rate at least twice over the next ten years Renovation is expected to contribute to, among others, increasing energy efficiency in buildings and more resource-efficient management, as well as creating new jobs in the construction sector. The Strategy was published in October 2020.
Assumptions of the Long-term Renovation Strategy
The Long-term Renovation Strategy, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, contains guidelines for supporting the renovation of buildings in Poland. The strategy recommends the path for thermal modernisation that combines the rapid growth of the shallow thermal modernisation scale in the perspective of 2030 with the gradual spread of deep thermal modernisation, so to make it the dominant way of implementing such investments after 2030. This approach will allow, among others, to support mass exchanges of heating sources and consequently to effectively improve air quality in the coming years. The draft strategy was submitted to the public consultation on 11 February.
