01.06.2021
Meeting with the Minister for Food and water Safety, participation in the Hotel Show discussions with representatives of the government agency Sharjah FDI, as well as with representatives of Polish businesses in Dubai – are the main points of the visit held by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Technology Grzegorz Piechowiak in the United Arab Emirates.
The Polish-emigrant economic relations have already brought over three decades of increasingly intensive, fruitful cooperation. I am pleased that, from year to year, an increasing number of Polish companies decide to conduct their interests in the United Arab Emirates and through them also in the neighbouring markets of Arab States. On the other hand, I encourage the emigrant entrepreneurs to invest in Poland, especially in the area of the Polish Investment Zone, which creates a good climate and guarantees a number of facilitations in the implementation of business projects. While the UAE becomes a specific business hub among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states which attracts companies from all over the world, Poland plays a similar role in the region of Central and Eastern Europe – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Labour and Technology and Plenipotentiary of the Government for Foreign Investments Grzegorz Piechowiak during the meeting held with the representatives of the Government Agency in emigration Sharjah FDI.
The Deputy Head of the MEDLT also met the Minister for Food and water Safety of UAE Mariam Al Mheiri. The discussion focused on the economic relations between Poland and the Emirates. Minister Piechowiak also attended the inauguration of the three-day event of the Hotel Show in Dubai, where he held a meeting with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Motoumem, among others. He also officially opened the Polish Pavilion, where approximately 30 Polish companies presented their various offers, out of which almost a half represented the furniture industry.
Participation in the Hotel Show Dubai 2021, as well as in other important trade fairs in the UAE is a part of the economic program accompanying Poland’s participation in the World Expo 2020, Which will start on 1 October 2021. The main purpose of both events is to promote Polish companies and to support them in strengthening their business relations with partners in the Middle East.
Economic relations between Poland and the Emirates

The following are involved in the promotion of Polish interests in the UAE: The Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Polish Tourist Organisation, which participate in trade fairs and organise business forums. In March 2006, the Polish Business Group was formed under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and industry. Kooperacja Ubezpieczeń Kredytów Eksportowych S.A. [Export Credit Insurance Corporation S.A.] continuously supports the activities of the Polish exporters on the market in the sector of emigration by providing insurance cover in the framework of commercial activities.
