14.09.2021
2500 companies involved and 1000 events for 6 months. In just 2 weeks, Expo 2020 will open in Dubai. The 19th World Exhibition, postponed by a year due to the COVID pandemic, will be a unique opportunity for the economic promotion of our country in the international arena. As emphasised by the representatives of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which coordinates Poland's participation in the Expo, it will be an exceptional exhibition. Poland will for the first time present such a comprehensive business and cultural programme.
- The motto of the Polish presentation: „Poland. Creativity inspired by nature”
- The venue for the exhibition will be the Polish Pavilion with an area of over 2000 m2 with a distinctive wooden facade and a kinetic sculpture symbolising a flock of birds, as well as a spectacular element of the exhibition - the artistic multimedia installation "Polish Table”
- Over the next six months, Expo 2020 will host nearly 1,000 events of various kinds, the most important of which are: Polish Day, the Polish-Arab Economic Forum and the Polish-African Economic Forum
- A total of nearly 2,500 Polish companies will participate in the economic programme, consisting of more than a dozen different initiatives
Today we all wonder what our world will look like after a pandemic. Although we are not able to answer this question precisely, we realise that in order to meet the challenges posed by the contemporary world, we cannot stand still. We must continue to develop
and support domestic enterprises at home and in foreign markets. We act in such a way that the crisis caused by the pandemic becomes a driving force for further development of the Polish economy,”
- emphasises Grzegorz Piechowiak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology.
I am convinced that Expo 2020 may become one of the impulses for further development, which will strengthen Poland's position as the leading economy of the Old Continent, which all the time remains an extremely attractive and friendly place to invest in. Our participation in the Expo 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai will be, on the one hand, a post-pandemic economic manifesto and, on the other hand, a spectacular opportunity to establish important business contacts in the Middle East and a gateway to African markets.
Expo 2020 is an extremely important area of PAIH's activities, which undoubtedly fits into the Agency's strategy. Our goal is to actively promote Poland as a reliable trade partner and a safe investment destination. The Expo demonstrates our ability to act synergistically, which includes creating a substantive and conceptual umbrella over all activities designed to build Poland's image within this project. We hope that at the World Expo we will present all our potential and innovation to partners from new, non-EU markets, including Arab and African countries. This is very important for us.
- Krzysztof Drynda, President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, emphasised during the press conference announcing the events at Expo 2020.
Expo 2020 will also be the first World Exhibition organised in an Arab country and, according to the organisers, it will go down in history as the largest. Poland plans to comprehensively promote its economic potential and Polish entrepreneurs. This is why PAIH - in cooperation with many institutions - has prepared a special economic programme for entrepreneurs. It consists of numerous support tools aimed at Polish companies which want to develop, taking advantage of Poland's participation in Expo 2020. One of them is the Partnership Programme. This is the first undertaking of this kind in the entire history of Poland's participation in the World Expo, which gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to promote themselves and strengthen their plans for foreign expansion. Another initiative within the economic programme is the possibility to obtain funds within the Go to Brand programme coordinated by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. Thanks to this programme, entrepreneurs receive financial support for the promotion of product brands, among others during Expo 2020. Important initiatives also include business seminars in the Polish Pavilion, which will present the Polish services and technology sector to foreign investors. Expert webinars, in turn, will broaden entrepreneurs' knowledge of the conditions for foreign expansion into the Gulf and African markets.
The Middle East is today a global centre of trade exchange. I am convinced that thanks to the Expo it will be easier for Polish companies to establish themselves on new markets. I am delighted that nearly 2,500 companies will participate in the economic programme accompanying Poland's presence at Expo. It is for Polish entrepreneurs that we have prepared a unique support programme, dedicated not only to the largest but also to small and medium-sized companies. It is important to show the full economic potential of our country. In particular, we invite you to participate in two economic forums, business seminars in the Polish Pavilion, as well as in expert webinars,
- underlines Krzysztof Drynda, PAIH President.
The most important place for presenting the potential of our economy will be the Poland Pavilion with an area of over 2 thousand square metres. One part of the Pavilion, designed to establish business contacts, will also host meetings of Polish and foreign entrepreneurs. As part of the multimedia exhibition in the Poland Pavilion in the zone Poland. Spirit of ingenuity, the multimedia exhibition in the Polish Pavilion will showcase nearly 200 entities representing sectors with the greatest potential for export to Middle Eastern markets. The final finishing touches are currently being put on the Polish Pavilion.
In its centre an art installation "Polish Table" has been installed, which will be a form of allegorical story about Poland - about our creativity, entrepreneurship, rich culture and unique design
- says Adrian Malinowski, Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.
