Minister Waldemar Buda appointed to the Social Dialogue Council

Today, the Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Waldemar Buda, was appointed by President Andrzej Duda to the Social Dialogue Council.
The Social Dialogue Council is the most important national forum for cooperation between the government, trade unions and employers’ organisations. It consists of representatives of trade unions, employers and the government. The members of the Council are appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Composition of the Social Dialogue Council
Representatives of the government in the SDC are:
- Jacek Sasin – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets,
- Andrzej Adamczyk – Minister of Infrastructure,
- Waldemar Buda – Minister of Economic Development and Technology,
- Przemysław Czarnek – Minister of Education and Science,
- Mariusz Kamiński – Minister of the Interior and Administration,
- Marlena Maląg – Minister of Family and Social Policy,
- Anna Moskwa – Minister of Climate and Environment,
- Adam Niedzielski – Minister of Health,
- Grzegorz Puda – Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy,
- Magdalena Rzeczkowska – Minister of Finance,
- Sebastian Skuza – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance.

Social Dialogue Council – the role of dialogue for the development of the Polish economy
The Social Dialogue Council was established on 22 October 2015 by the President of the Republic of Poland, pursuant to the Act of 24 July 2015 on the Social Dialogue Council and other social dialogue institutions.
The task of the Social Dialogue Council is to conduct social dialogue so as to ensure the conditions for the proper socio-economic development and to increase the competitiveness and cohesion of the Polish social economy.
The Council is also to implement the principle of participation and social solidarity in the field of employment relationships. The role of the Council is also to support the determination and implementation of socio-economic policies and strategies. It aims at building social understanding around them by conducting a transparent, substantive and regular dialogue between employees’ and employers’ organisations together with the government.
