Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology published the second Black Book on barriers faced by Polish companies in EU countries
16.06.2021
The list of barriers hindering the cross-border activity of Polish entrepreneurs on the European Union market is included in the report prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology. The Black Book was created on the basis of comments and cases reported directly to the Ministry by entrepreneurs. It will be forwarded to the Commissioner responsible for the Internal Market and the Member States with the intention to look together for practical solutions to identified irregularities.
The single market is one of the EU’s greatest achievements and is of great value, especially when facing global competition in the world market. Its smooth and undisturbed functioning is even more important for the European countries during the pandemic. The solidarity that is indispensable at this point also means working together to rebuild the single market.
- Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development, Labour and Technology, wrote in his letter in the report.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that by publishing the second Black Book, the Ministry wanted to draw the attention of European partners to the current obstacles for Polish companies.
We want to make our interlocutors aware of the above-mentioned barriers, so that the understanding of their harmfulness convinces our EU partners to eliminate them.
- Minister writes.
Jarosław Gowin asked entrepreneurs for further notifications about barriers, because equipped with knowledge about difficulties in cross-border activity, we can solve them more effectively.
Your voice and support emphasize the importance of the conclusion drawn from the Black Book - an effective market is a market without internal barriers.
- the Deputy Prime Minister believes.
The Second Black Book - the main barriers for Polish entrepreneurs
One of the conclusions drawn from both reports is that the barriers are of a different, often complex, nature, which translates into difficulties in lifting them. The Second Black Book also shows that the "old" barriers have not disappeared so far, but new ones have started to appear, including those temporary and related to the pandemic. In order to protect the internal markets of individual EU countries, many restrictions have been introduced that favour domestic entrepreneurs, which is especially visible in the agri-food sector.
