Piotr Nowak as the new Minister of Economic Development and Technology

President Andrzej Duda, on the proposal of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, appointed Piotr Nowak to the post of Minister of Economic Development and Technology.
Piotr Nowak is a graduate of the Faculty of Cybernetics at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw and the Warsaw School of Economics in the field of Finance and Banking. He also graduated from PhD studies at Warsaw School of Economics and Executive MBA studies conducted by Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with London Business School, HEC School of Management Paris and NHH Bergen. He holds a CQF - Certificate in Quantitative Finance. Piotr Nowak is also a graduate of the postgraduate programme "International Security" at Stanford University in the USA.
He has been involved in the financial market since 2004. He worked in Polish and foreign financial institutions dealing with, among others, bonds and interest rate derivatives from Central and Eastern Europe, debt instruments, stock indices.
At the beginning of 2015 he started working as an economic expert at the Chancellery of the President of Poland, then from October to December 2015 he worked at Money Makers TFI S.A.
From 2015 to 2020, he served as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible, among other things, for financing the state budget. From January 2021 to October 2021, advisor to the Head (Managing Director) of the International Monetary Fund in Washington and Deputy Director of the IMF's Monetary and Capital Markets Department.
