For the tenth time, representatives of Poland and Ukraine met within the framework of the Polish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. The main focus of the meeting was bilateral cooperation as well as the challenges and opportunities for the development of economic ties.

In the face of rising tensions in the region, we must continuously demonstrate solidarity and actively work together to counteract Russian influence. This also applies to economic and strictly business cooperation. Our solidarity in the military sphere must be matched by economic solidarity

- stated Minister Krzysztof Paszyk, reaffirming Poland’s unwavering support for Ukraine during its fight against Russian aggression.

During the discussions, the Polish side also underlined its readiness to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Polish entrepreneurs are well prepared to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine and possess considerable potential. Naturally, this requires the will of both sides. We are also counting on Ukraine’s support for Poland’s bid to host the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026. Poland is ready to organise the conference in one of the country’s major cities

- said Krzysztof Paszyk, also drawing the Ukrainian side’s attention to the need for an intergovernmental agreement on the status of the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego’s operations in Ukraine, as well as Poland’s willingness to cooperate in the aviation sector and the restoration of Ukraine’s air traffic.

Today’s meeting is not only another stage in our cooperation, but an important milestone in the development of the strategic partnership between Poland and Ukraine. Our countries share not only a common border, but also historical, economic and, above all, human ties

- stressed Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister, Oleksii Chernyshov.

The integration of Ukraine with the EU is in Poland’s strategic interest. It must be remembered, however, that accession to the EU requires the full adoption of the EU acquis and compliance with the resulting legal and economic standards. Poland too once walked this path

- added Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski.

After the Commission’s proceedings, a press conference was held with the participation of the Minister of Development and Technology and the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.

From our side, the key point of the Commission’s deliberations was above all the proposal to involve Polish entrepreneurs in the reconstruction process and in strengthening Ukraine’s economy. And I wish to express my thanks, because the Prime Minister confirmed the intention for Poland and Ukraine to jointly submit a request to the G7 to organise next year’s Recovery Forum in Poland

- noted Minister Krzysztof Paszyk.

Meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine

The visit of the Ukrainian delegation was also an opportunity for Minister Krzysztof Paszyk and Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski to meet with Oleksii Chernyshov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. The discussion focused, among other things, on cooperation within the framework of Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Our aim is also to develop business cooperation – Polish companies are willing and ready to take part in reconstruction projects in Ukraine. Many Polish firms already operate in Ukraine and possess the relevant experience and expertise

- emphasised Minister Krzysztof Paszyk.

The meeting also addressed current issues and challenges faced by both countries.
