The summary of past bilateral economic cooperation, as well as of joint initiatives at the EU level and the prospects for their further development in the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic and in the post-covid reality are the main topics of today’s meeting between Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin and the government representative for foreign investment Grzegorz Piechowiak with the Italian ambassador Aldo Amati.

Meeting of Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin with the Italian ambassador to Poland Aldo Amati.

I would like to congratulate the creation of new government of the Italian Republic led by Prime Minister Mario Draghi. I am looking forward to further intensive cooperation which would result in closer economic relations between our countries, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, Jarosław Gowin.

Italy has been one of our most important trading partners for years, both in export and import. In the longer term, I am also counting on stepping up bilateral cooperation in individual and business tourism. I am also convinced that the implementation of joint projects would strengthen the innovation of both the Polish and Italian economies, emphasised Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin.

Meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Poland was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Technology and government representative for foreign investment Grzegorz Piechowiak.

We welcome the investment engagement of Italian entrepreneurs in Poland. In 2020, the number of Italian companies that invest their capital within the Polish investment zone have increased. This puts the entrepreneurs of the Apennine Peninsula at the 8th place in terms of the value of the capital invested and in the third position in terms of the number of investments. We hope not only to keep but also to develop this positive trend, added Grzegorz Piechowiak, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology.
