Efficiency of energy use in small
and medium sized enterprises

Within the project a handbook for self-assessment of energy consumption for small and medium sized entrepreneurs has been prepared. The manual will help answer the question why it is worth to increase energy efficiency in the company and what methods to use.

Among selected methods, technical and non-technical activities were distinguished.

The issues and actions described in the manual are to be a hint where to look for savings.

It is also supposed to encourage to take a look at the company, introduce improvements and, consequently, obtain measurable financial benefits. Some of these activities can be done on their own and are low cost or even cost-free.

However, some of them require an energy audit that will show and justify possible savings and recommend actions and payback periods. The energy audit is necessary when applying for funds from dedicated pro-efficiency programs. In addition, this handbook is intended to help the entrepreneur to determine the position of his enterprise in the context of the Industry 4.0 concept.

We encourage you to read and use the described methods and tips frequently.

As a supplement to the handbook, a self-audit has been prepared, which is a tool to carry out independently an energy audit in the company.
