Where to apply?


You can apply at the consular office of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo, every working day at 9:00-11:00.

Do I have to apply in person?

Visa application form must be submitted in person. Diplomatic mission does not accept application forms sent via fax, regular mail or e-mail.

How to book an appointment?

You can book your appointment to apply for a visa via the https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/  system ONLY. 

We open new appointments in our system https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/ every Monday at 9:00 AM (local time)

In case said dates fall on a holiday, the visa slots will be released on the next working day at the same time.

Registration of a visa application for a different purpose than indicated in the selected type of a visa, as well as substantial changes in the visa application after completing the registration will cause a visa application rejection. Please register visa applications carefully and with proper attention.

The Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in Cairo does not cooperate with any commercial visa agencies.

VISA APPLICATION STEP BY STEP:

  • Visit: https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/   and schedule an appointment for the Embassy of Poland in Cairo
  • Choose the type of visa: for travels for maximum 90 days – Schengen visafor travels from 91 to 365 days - National Visa. Proper application form is obligatory. Wrongly registered application forms won't be accepted during appointment at the Embassy.
  • Verify captcha.
  • Choose date of appointment.
  • Fill in the application form and click on “Submit”.
  • Print out the application form and confirmation page.

The printed application along with all the required documents must be submitted personally by the applicant on the appointment day printed on the visa application form.

Please note:

Appointments are available on the shown dates only. Do note that we do not give the individual slots for the visa applicants. New slots are being systematically open for all the applicants on the “first-come-first-served” basis via https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/  

Applicants must correctly put all of their personal details on the application form during the registration procedure.

Applicants are requested to put the correct details of their valid passport.

Applicants are obliged to put their complete and personal details on the application form:

  • complete residential address (including the house number, street name, city/town, province, and zip code)
  • personal contact details (e.g. email address and landline or mobile number)

If you have submitted an application form and noticed some slight mistakes on the printout, please correct them manually and confirm the corrections with a signature next to it. There is no need to make a new application.

Applicants shall arrive at the Consular Section at the appointed time only.

The Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in Cairo does not cooperate with any commercial visa agencies.

Appointment cancelation: 

If you need to cancel your appointment, kindly send us a message to e-mail: cairo.consul@msz.gov.pl  with information as follows:

  • Surname and first name
  • Passport number
  • Visa type
  • Appointment date

Request must be send before your submission date. You will receive an e-mail confirming that your appointment had been cancelled as soon as possible.

If there are no dates available for submission in https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/, it means that: at this date the consulate does not work or all slots are already booked.

Registered application form must be printed and submitted along with all required documents (see the checklists of documents published above) at the date indicated by the https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/ 

To apply for visa citizens of Libya should contact Embassy of Poland in Tunis. 

All participants of The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange Programs may submit visa application on every Monday without registration via e-Konsulat.

What documents do I need to submit – tourist visa

Please pay attention to select proper application form. For travel for maximum 90 days you should apply for schengen visa. For travel above 90 days you should apply for national visa. Proper application form is obligatory. Wrongly registered application forms won't be accepted during appointment at the Embassy.

Please be informed that all certificates and official papers must be provided in original (for perusal) and photocopy.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Visa Application form. The form must be fully completed, printed and signed in the corresponding blanks. Application form is generated upon registration via http://www.e-konsulat.gov.pl/
  • One photo to be attached. The size of the photo must be 3,5 x 4,5 cm.  The photo should be printed on a high quality paper, taken within last 6 months, showing clearly face and eyes, have full-face capture, a white background and  the face should cover 70-80 % of the surface of the photo. You should not have any head cover unless it is a religious.
  • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months prior to your departure from Schengen states. The passport must have at least two blank pages.
  • For other citizens than Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea - copy of Residence Permit in Egypt (Resident Permit must be shown to the visa officer)
  • Copy of passport page with photo and personal data.
  • Copies of previous Schengen visas issued within the last 3 years.
  • Proof of travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during your stay on the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance should be valid throughout the territory of all Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage should be EUR 30 000. The applicant should submit a written confirmation from the insuring company with information about the name of the insured person, territorial validity of the insurance, exact dates and amount of the coverage.
  • Round trip flight reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from the Schengen area (purchase of the ticket is not required at this point).
  • Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in the Schengen area matching the round trip flight reservation and travel medical insurance, such as: a prepaid hotel reservation, confirmation of a hotel reservation, confirmation of a prepaid accommodation, confirmation of private accommodation.
  • If visiting more than one Member State: trip itinerary
  • Passport movement certificate from Mogamma: For first time travellers, or in case of passport loss: passport movement certificate from Mogamma covering the past 7 years (this rule is also valid for the spouses of UE citizens travelling for the first time to Schengen states).
  • Original bank account statement with an official bank stamp and signature and translation of the statements showing activity over the last 6 months.
  • For employees: a certificate of employment, specifying the recruitment date, position in the company and salary level and confirmation of leave approval 
  • For company owners: original of the commercial registry and tax card in original and copy
  • If the applicant is a pupil / student: proof of enrolment in school/university
  • Housewives and minors should provide Non Objection Letter from their sponsor as well as sponsor’s passport and visa copy, salary certificate and current bank account statement for the last 6 months.
  • If the applicant is traveling alone and does not have sufficient own means of subsistence: he/she need to provide certified notarized declaration of covering the costs of the stay from another person together with their bank statement detailing the turnover on the account for the last 6 months

 

Documents in Arabic must be provided with English or Polish translation.

 

Additional requirements for minors:

If minors travel without their legal guardian:

    • consent of parental authority (both parents) or legal guardian(s) must be provided either through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises
    • a copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be provided

If minors travel with only one of their legal guardians:

    • consent of the parental authority or legal guardian not travelling with their minor/child must be provided through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises
    • a copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be provided.

Important:

  • The visa application should be submitted at the Embassy of Poland that consular district is the place of permanent residence of the applicant.
  • The required documents should be up-to-date (not older than 3 months). The consul may request additional documents.
  • The visa application should be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the planned trip.
  • The submission of forged documents and the provision of false information may result in a ban on entry to the Schengen states.
  • The visa does not guarantee entry into the territory of the Schengen area - the final decision is always made by the services of the country at the border of the Schengen area.
  • Payment is made by cash only in US dollars
  • Biometric data should be collected every 59 months from the date of their first application.

Application is admissible when:

  • application was submitted 6 months prior to planned visit, no later than 15 days prior to planned visit
  • submitted papers contain: application form, travel document, photo;

  • Official invitation from the inviting company (on official company paper, stamped and signed) containing the following information:
    • the full address of the company and contact persons
    • nature of the business
    • name and position of the person signing the invitation
    • purpose and duration of the visit
    • person or entity who will bear the applicant’s travel and living costs.
  • Sending company needs to provide copy of the sending company’s recent registry/tax card.
  • Statement on official company paper stamped and signed, containing the following information:
    • full address of the company and contact persons
    • name and position of the person signing the statement
    • applicant’s name, position, salary and number of years employed (if applicable)
    • purpose of the visit
    • the characteristics of the applicant’s work contract
    • person or entity who will bear the applicant’s travel and living costs.
  • Regarding the applicant’s expenses, it must be stated either in the employer’s letter or the partner company’s invitation that one of both parties will be covering the applicant’s travel expenses during his/her stay in the Schengen Zone.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies proof of such an event.
  • Proof of travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during your stay on the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance should be valid throughout the territory of all Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage should be EUR 30 000. The applicant should submit a written confirmation from the insuring company with information about the name of the insured person, territorial validity of the insurance, exact dates and amount of the coverage.
  • The current bank account statement stamped and signed by the bank (for the last 6 months) as a proof of sufficient means of subsistence during the intended stay in the Schengen area.
  • Self-employed should produce evidence of registration of your business in the Egypt, trade license and the latest bank statement is to be attached.

Important:

  • applicant’s full name
  • host’s full name and address
  • duration of visit.
  • a copy of the host’s ID card or bio data page of the host’s passport
  • host’s residence permit, if applicable
  • proof of residence of the host (property title deeds, rental agreements etc.) or proof of income
  • the host’s last three payslips or their proof of income if the host is paying for the visit.
  • Passport movement certificate from Mogamma: for first time travellers, or in case of passport loss: passport movement certificate from Mogamma covering the past 7 years (this rule is also valid for the spouses of UE citizens travelling for the first time to Schengen states).
  • Original bank account statement with an official bank stamp and signature and translation of the statements showing activity over the last 6 months.

  • name and date of the event
  • detailed programme of the event
  • role of the applicant in the event
  • information of the body sponsoring the trip, accommodation and expenses during the trip.

• Personalised letter from the institution sending the concerned applicant, if applicable, or one of the following:

  • document proving the applicant’s membership in a national or other team

• If visiting more than one Member State: trip itinerary

• Passport movement certificate from Mogamma: For first time travellers, or in case of passport loss: passport movement certificate from Mogamma covering the past 7 years (this rule is also valid for the spouses of UE citizens travelling for the first time to Schengen states).

• Original bank account statement with an official bank stamp and signature and translation of the statements showing activity over the last 6 months.

• For employees: a certificate of employment, specifying the recruitment date, position in the company and salary level and confirmation of leave approval

  • consent of parental authority (both parents) or legal guardian(s) must be provided either through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises
  • a copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be provided

If minors travel with only one of their legal guardians:

  • consent of the parental authority or legal guardian not travelling with their minor/child must be provided through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises

• Original bank account statement with an official bank stamp and signature and translation of the statements showing activity over the last 6 months.

• For employees: a certificate of employment, specifying the recruitment date, position in the company and salary level and confirmation of leave approval

• Certificate from the referring doctor in Egypt and/or a medical institution stating the kind of medical treatment or examination needed.

• Housewives and minors should provide Non Objection Letter from their sponsor as well as sponsor’s passport and visa copy, salary certificate and current bank account statement for the last 6 months.

• If the applicant is traveling alone and does not have sufficient own means of subsistence: he/she need to provide certified notarized declaration of covering the costs of the stay from another person together with their bank statement detailing the turnover on the account for the last 6 months

 

Documents in Arabic must be provided with English or Polish translation.

 

Additional requirements for minors:

  • If minors travel without their legal guardian:
  • consent of parental authority (both parents) or legal guardian(s) must be provided either through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises
  • a copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be provided
  • If minors travel with only one of their legal guardians:
  • consent of the parental authority or legal guardian not travelling with their minor/child must be provided through a notarised certificate or a form signed at the consulate premises
  • a copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be provided.

What documents do I need to submit – conference/cultural programme

Visa application form should be made through electronic customer service system "e-konsulat": http://www.e-konsulat.gov.pl/ (visa application forms which was not registered via http://www.e-konsulat.gov.pl/ won't be accepted).

 

Please pay attention to select proper application form. For travel for maximum 90 days you should apply for schengen visa. For travel above 90 days you should apply for national visa. Proper application form is obligatory. Wrongly registered application forms won't be accepted during appointment at the Embassy.

 

Please be informed that all certificates and official papers must be provided in original (for perusal) and photocopy.

 

Please find below the conference/cultural programme visa requirements:

 

• Visa Application form. The form must be fully completed, printed and signed in the corresponding blanks. Application form is generated upon registration via http://www.e-konsulat.gov.pl/

• One photo to be attached. The size of the photo must be 3,5 x 4,5 cm.  The photo should be printed on a high quality paper, taken within last 6 months, showing clearly face and eyes, have full-face capture, a white background and  the face should cover 70-80 % of the surface of the photo. You should not have any head cover unless it is a religious.

• Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months prior to your departure from Schengen states. The passport must have at least two blank pages.

• For other citizens than Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea - copy of Residence Permit in Egypt (Resident Permit must be shown to the visa officer)

• Copy of passport page with photo and personal data.

• Copies of previous Schengen visas issued within the last 3 years.

• Proof of travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during your stay on the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance should be valid throughout the territory of all Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage should be EUR 30 000. The applicant should submit a written confirmation from the insuring company with information about the name of the insured person, territorial validity of the insurance, exact dates and amount of the coverage.

• Round trip flight reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from the Schengen area (purchase of the ticket is not required at this point).

• Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in the Schengen area matching the round trip flight reservation and travel medical insurance, such as: a prepaid hotel reservation, confirmation of a hotel reservation, confirmation of a prepaid accommodation, confirmation of private accommodation.

• Original letter of invitation from the organiser of the event in the destination Member State containing the following information:

  • name and date of the event
  • detailed programme of the event
  • role of the applicant in the event
  • information of the body sponsoring the trip, accommodation and expenses during the trip.

• Personalised letter from the institution sending the concerned applicant, if applicable, or one of the following:

  • document proving the applicant’s membership in a national or other team

• If visiting more than one Member State: trip itinerary

• Passport movement certificate from Mogamma: For first time travellers, or in case of passport loss: passport movement certificate from Mogamma covering the past 7 years (this rule is also valid for the spouses of UE citizens travelling for the first time to Schengen states).

Consular fees should be paid in cash in USD during appointment at the Embassy.

Out of charge:

a) children under the age of 6;

b) family members of the EU citizen (visas for entry to Poland):

  • the spouse of the EU citizen;
  • a direct descendant of the EU citizen or his/her spouse, who is under the age of 21 and is dependent on the EU citizen or his/her spouse;
  • a direct ascendant of the EU citizen or his/her spouse, who is dependent on the EU citizen or his/her spouse;

c) family members of citizen of Poland:

  • the spouse of the citizen of the Republic of Poland;
  • a direct minor descendant of the RP citizen or his/her spouse, who is dependent on RP citizen or his/her spouse;
  • a direct ascendant of the RP citizen or the spouse, who is dependent on RP citizen or his/her spouse;

d) pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers, who travel for the purposes of study or training;

e) scientists traveling to conduct scientific research or to participate in a scientific seminar or scientific conference;

f) representatives of civil society organizations (e.g NGO) under 25 years old taking part in  seminars, conferences, sport, cultural and educational events organized by non-profit organizations;

g) persons applying for a diplomatic or service visas.

Reduced fee:

Children of the age 6 - 12. 

The basis authorizing the visa fee waiver must be proven by the applicant by submitting justifying documents.

The visa application fee is non-returnable, whatever the consul's decision.

Note: 

  • Embassy of Poland does not cooperate with any visa agenicies for visa process; 
  • Visa agencies does not guarantee preferential treatment; 
  • Only consular officer is entitled to make visa decysion;  
  • Only required payment for visa procedure is visa fee. 
What is the waiting time?

The consul will make the decision on the visa within 15 calendar days. Exceptionally, the time to make the decision can be extended up to 45 days.  

How to collect the documents?

You can collect your visa decision every working day at 1:00-2:00 pm.

During month of Ramadan you can collect your visa decision every working day at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.

You shall be informed about negative decision with the indication of the reasons in case of such a decision. 

How to appeal?

If you do not agree with the consul's decision, you may ask to have your visa application re-considered. You must apply for the reconsideration in the office that issued the decision within 14 days of its delivery.

An applicant needs to come to the Embassy during reception hours (Sunday – Thursday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm) without appointment, with the documents.

Please note that an appeal cannot be completed by mail or by sending documents by post.  

If 14 days have already passed, the applicant needs to make a new appointment on-line.

Revocation or annulment of Schengen visa

If you have received a decision to revoke or annul your Schengen visa that you do not agree with, you have the right to ask for a reconsideration. However, if you have applied yourself for your Schengen visa to be revoked and the consul has agreed, you are not entitled to appeal.

You should apply for reconsideration within 14 days of receiving the decision to annul or revoke your Schengen visa at the consular post that issued the decision.


If you apply for reconsideration after your Schengen visa was revoked or annulled, you do not have to pay the consular fee.

Complaint about refusal to issue Schengen visa, decision to revoke or annul Schengen visa and the consul's activities in this respect.


If the consul who examines your reconsideration request, issues a new decision to refuse, annul or revoke your visa, which you do not agree with, you have the right to submit a complaint to the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw. The complaint should be forwarded through the consul who made the decision, within 30 days of receiving the decision taken as a result of the re-examination .


You do not pay a consular fee for submitting a complaint to the consul, but you have to pay fees for proceedings before administrative courts. Therefore, you have to note that the court will ask you to pay the court fee.
