Discussion of the heads of diplomacy of EU countries with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Minister Jacek Czaputowicz took part in the informal discussion of EU foreign ministers with the participation of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The topics of the meeting included the impact of the Covid-19 on international relations, the state of relations with China, the Middle East peace process, and the EU’s eastern neighbourhood.

The discussion focused on the need to maintain transatlantic partnership in all strategic areas, including the key regions of the Middle and Far East. The conference participants agreed that some countries seek to use the ongoing crisis to undermine the current world order, an attempt which the EU and U.S. should jointly oppose. 

The head of Polish diplomacy participated in the videoconference directly after the meeting in Vilnius, where he met with the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Lithuania - Linas Linkeviczius, Latvia - Edgar Rinkeviczs and Estonia - Urmas Reinsal.
