Minister Marlena Maląg and Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled, Paweł Wdówik, attended the Gala on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled.
30 years ago, a support system for persons with disabilities was created, which, with changes, has been functioning until today. Its important, integral element is the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled.
Overcoming mental limits
The ceremonial Gala on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Fund was held at the Olympic Centre in Warsaw. It was attended by, inter alia, Minister Marlena Maląg and Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled, Paweł Wdówik.
– Action for the vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, social integration and accessibility are the key elements of the Fund’s mission, which have been guiding all its employees for years. Financial support gives persons with disabilities an opportunity to go beyond the limits of architectural, information and communication or digital barriers, but, first of all, it allows them to overcome the greatest limits – mental limits – reminded the President of PFRON, Krzysztof Michałkiewicz.
Letter and engraved plate
During the ceremony, Minister Marlena Maląg read a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. She also stressed that the experience she gained as a former manager of the Fund proves to be very valuable when defining the directions of family policy, including also persons with disabilities.
Minister Paweł Wdówik pointed out that systemic changes in the attitude towards persons with disabilities cannot take place without the existence of such an institution as the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled.
Minister Maląg and Deputy Minister Wdówik gave a commemorative engraved plate to the President of PFRON. It says: I would like to thank all Employees for their years of service to persons with disabilities and I wish them to continue their efforts to change the world so that it is as friendly as possible for the disabled.
