500+ application for the new benefit period may be submitted as early as 1st February

The “Family 500+” programme is the greatest support to be offered to Polish families after the transformation period. In total, it exceeds over PLN 134 billion. – The call for electronic applications for the new benefit period begins on February 1st – the Minister of Family and Social Policy Magdalena Maląg reminds, urging to apply for the family benefit as early as possible.

During the Monday press briefing, the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg reminded that the call for proposals for another benefit period under the “Family 500+” programme launches exactly in a week – on February 1st.

Summarising the current actions taken under the programme, minister Maląg stressed that the support reaches 6.6 million children each month. Over PLN 134 billion has already been allocated to families so far. While the extensive financing period – lasting from the birth of the child up to adulthood – allows the family to receive a total of up to PLN 108 hundred thousand per each child. 

New benefit period – new applications

Since 2021 the right to the “500+” benefit shall be determined for the period of 1st June until 31st May of the next calendar year.

– The call for electronic applications for the new benefit period launches next week, precisely on February 1st – reminded the head of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy during the press briefing. Three options are available: electronic banking, Empatia portal and PUE ZUS. – These are simple systems, simple applications which enable to file the applications efficiently – the minister added.

The application may be filed traditionally beginning on April 1st of the current year.

Time limits for the “500+” benefit pay-outs.

Filing a complete and correct benefit for the family benefit for the next period until April 30th means granting and issuing the benefit due for June at the latest until June 30th of that year.

In the case of complete and correct applications filed between May 1st and May 31st of the given year, determining the right and issuing the benefit including the compensatory adjustment since June will be made at the latest until 31st July 2020.

If a person applying for the parental benefit files an application along with the required documents within the period between June 1st and June 30th of the given year, the decision and the payment including the compensatory adjustment since June will be made at the latest until 31st August of the year.

Caution! If the application is filed late, i.e. after June 30th, the right to the parental benefit shall be determined and the benefit shall be issued within a month after the application is lodged. Only filing the application until the end of June 2021 shall guarantee that the parental benefit is issued with compensatory adjustment since June 1st.
