21.12.2021
Another edition of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy’s programme entitled “Care 75+” is being launched. Communes must report their demand for funds for 2022 by the end of January. In this edition, the special-purpose subsidy from the state budget increased to 60% of the cost of implementing the task.
Since 2018, the Ministry of Family has been implementing the government programme entitled “Care 75+”. It is a response to the challenges faced by Poland due to the ongoing demographic processes, therefore, it is addressed to the elderly people aged 75 and more who live in communes of up to 60 thousand residents.
More and more communes benefit from it
The Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg signed the “Care 75+” programme for 2022. The programme is to support self-governments in implementing their own task resulting from the Act on social assistance. Thanks to it, care services, including specialist ones, are also developed in smaller localities. Year by year, more and more communes participate in it and more and more Seniors use its services.
In the 2022 edition of the programme, we increased the amount of financial support to communes provided from the special-purpose subsidy of the state budget from 50% to 60%.
The programme will cover persons who will use care services for the first time as well as those already using them before and it will also be possible to increase the number of hours of services needed.
– Every year, there are more and more elderly people in Poland and the demand for care services – also specialist ones – is growing. This is why it is so important to ensure access to them for all who need it – stresses the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg. – It is an important part of our senior policy.
Demand to be reported by the end of January
Last year, thanks to the “Care 75+” programme, more than 113 thousand persons in total were covered by assistance in the form of care services, including specialist ones.
By the end of January 2022, communes have time to report their demand for funds to the Voivodeship Offices. The Voivodes will provide this demand to the Ministry of Family by mid-February.
