On 2 June this year, a meeting of the Labour Market Council was held, which was devoted to the activities of the Ministry of Family aimed at helping Ukrainian citizens. The meeting discussed legal changes in the labour market and counteracting difficulties related to employment.
Thursday's meeting of the Labour Market Council was attended by Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy Stanislaw Szwed. During the meeting he recalled the importance of the programme "Together we can do more", which helps to reduce barriers to employment of Ukrainian citizens.
- We realize that a big barrier in accessing the labour market for Ukrainians may be the lack of knowledge of the Polish language. Therefore, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy launched the program "Together we can do more", which is dedicated to foreigners. There was huge interest in this programme, almost 900 applications for the total amount of PLN 1 billion were submitted. 115 projects were selected to be implemented for a total amount of PLN 104 million - says Stanisław Szwed, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy.
The meeting of the Labour Market Council was a continuation of the debate on the situation of Ukrainian citizens in Poland, resulting in measures to help them access the labour market and cash benefits dedicated to family.
The meeting also discussed proposals to provisionally allow temporary employment agencies to extend the employment period for temporary workers hired for more than 18 months in the transport and construction industries.
