The demographic crisis is not exclusively a Polish issue. Declining fertility is characteristic of all developed countries. There is no country in Europe where the fertility rate is at a level allowing a simple replacement of generations.

- There is no doubt that we must do everything in our power to reverse these negative trends in the long term. That is why we have prepared a draft Demographic Strategy - a comprehensive document setting out the directions for action until 2040. - says Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

During the work on the document, experts identified 10 areas influencing the decision to have children and proposed 12 lines of intervention under 3 specific objectives.

- This week, the first voivodeships - Zachodniopomorskie and Lubuskie - start public consultations on the draft Demographic Strategy. We encourage everyone who is not indifferent to the future of Poland, Polish families and future generations to participate in the consultations. This is our common cause," stresses Minister Maląg.

As the head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy points out, some of the assumptions of the Polish Order directly implement the directions defined in the Demographic Strategy.
