The Department of Economic Analysis (DAE) is responsible for collecting and preparing aggregate information on the Ministry's mission and activities within the competence of the Minister and for preparing on this basis the activity plan referred to in the Public Finance Act, reports on its implementation, analyses, diagnoses, assessments, forecasts and information. In addition, the DAE is responsible for preparing analyses and studies within the scope of the government administration departments: social security, family and labour, for preparing diagnoses and assessments within the framework of programme documents, strategies and programmes developed by the Ministry, not reserved to the competence of other departments.

• preparing information for the Minister, Secretaries and Undersecretaries of State and the Director General, as well as the Ministry's departments and external institutions on the scope of the Ministry's activities by initiating and carrying out research, analytical and forecasting work for the government administration units: social security, family and labour, not reserved to the competence of other departments;
• initiating research on the determination of the social minimum, subsistence minimum and determination of the income threshold for entitlement to social assistance benefits;
• participation in the work of international organisations and EU institutions with regard to tasks arising from the substantive activities of the DAE;
• internal and interdepartmental coordination of the development of the activity plan and report on its implementation;
• co-ordination of activities and co-operation with the Statistics Poland with regard to the development of the Programme of Public Statistical Research and the Eurostat Statistical Programme within the scope of the Minister's competence, and giving an opinion on the principles of statistical reporting;
• providing support in the implementation of reforms under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) within the jurisdiction of the DAE;
• acting as the Project Monitoring Office and carrying out tasks to monitor and support the implementation of projects belonging to the Ministry's strategic portfolios monitored in the MonAliZa ICT system; acting as the Project Monitoring Office and carrying out tasks in monitoring and supporting the implementation of projects belonging to the Ministry's strategic portfolios monitored in the MonAliZa system;
• monitoring the strategies, programmes and projects implemented in the Ministry;
