Deputy Minister Łukasz Krasoń: Funding will be available for people in oxygen or ventilator therapy

Respirators, particularly oxygen concentrators, use a lot of electricity, causing persons using home ventilation to limit their treatment in order to reduce bills. This takes a toll on their health and often results in higher hospitalisation costs, etc.

The response to this problem is a dedicated programme for approximately 20,000 people, funded by the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities (PFRON).

Any person with a disability using an oxygen concentrator or ventilator (National Health Fund - NFZ benefit code) will be able to receive a cash reimbursement for the electricity used. The refund will amount to PLN 100 per month. It will be possible to apply for the subsidy once a quarter. For example - in October it will be possible to apply electronically via the SOW system for funding for July, August and September. A total of PLN 300. The procedure is very simplified and will be based on a simple check of the NFZ records of the home ventilation service.

In the PFRON budget, PLN 16 million has been allocated for this task until the end of this year.
