Eurostat: In February, the unemployment rate in Poland was 3%

According to Eurostat data, in February the unemployment rate in Poland amounted to 3% and was one of the lowest in the EU – Poland is in second place with the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union. This is good news. However, we are closely watching the changes taking place in our labour market – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Eurostat: In February, the unemployment rate in Poland was 3%

This February, the unemployment rate in the European Union amounted to 6.2%, while in the eurozone it was 6.8%. In the same period of 2021, it amounted to 7.5% and 8.2%, respectively – according to Eurostat data.

Poland is at the forefront of countries with the lowest unemployment rate in the EU. At the end of February, the unemployment level in Poland amounted to 3% and was lower by 0.7 percentage points than the year before. This February, the lowest unemployment rate in the EU was recorded in the Czech Republic – 2.4%. The highest was recorded in Spain (12.6%) and Greece (11.9%)

According to Eurostat, the number of the unemployed in Poland decreased by 2 thousand people when compared to January and when compared to the same period of the last year, the number of the unemployed is lower by 108 thousand. Comparing year on year, the number of the unemployed in the EU decreased by more than 2.5 million, and in the eurozone by about 2.1 million.
