03.03.2023
Eurostat reports that the unemployment rate in Poland, after taking into account seasonal factors, amounted to 2.8% in January when compared to 2.9% in December. Poland is the European vice-leader in terms of the lowest unemployment.
Once again, the EU statistical office confirms the good and stable situation in our labour market. This is an unquestionable success, which we owe to the appropriate policy of the United Right government. We achieved the second best result in the European Union, only the Czech Republic is ahead of us with a result of 2.5%. As we have already proven many times, we are able to face global crises. The pandemic, which affected the whole world, in many countries led to unimaginable unemployment, we came out of it unscathed. Another test was the war in Ukraine. We passed the test of humanity by providing citizens of this country with employment, while protecting the Polish labour market – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.
So far, in the Eurostat rankings, Poland has been ranked second with the lowest unemployment in the EU on equal terms with Germany. In January, Germany fell to the third place – unemployment in this country stood at 3%.
The country with the highest unemployment rate, 13%, is Spain. In the European Union as a whole, the unemployment rate was 6.1%.
