Eurostat: Poland with the lowest unemployment rate in the EU

In March this year, the unemployment rate in Poland - calculated according to Eurostat methodology - was 2.9 %, placing us on the first place among the EU countries with the lowest level of unemployment. The same result was recorded by the Czech Republic, which had led this ranking in previous months.

Good information is coming from the labour market. According to Eurostat, the unemployment rate in Poland in March 2024 was 2.9 %, placing Poland - together with the Czech Republic - on the first place among European Union countries with the lowest level of unemployment. In comparison, the EU average was 6% and the Eurozone average was 6.5%.

Second place in March this year went to Slovenia with an unemployment rate of 3.1 %, and third place to Germany and Malta with 3.2 %.

At the same time, according to Eurostat, 515,000 people were unemployed in Poland - a thousand less than in February this year. In March 2023, this was 479,000 people.

Statistics Poland: Unemployment at record low in Poland

National data also point to a good situation on the labour market. Statistics Poland has confirmed the estimates of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, which show that in March this year, the registered unemployment rate in Poland amounted to 5.3 % and, compared to February, fell by 0.1 pp. The last time a lower unemployment rate was recorded in March 1990.
