Eurostat. The good labor market situation in Poland continues

Eurostat once again confirmed that the labor market situation in Poland is very good. According to the latest data, Poland’s unemployment rate in June this year, calculated according to the definition adopted by Eurostat, was 2.7 percent, the same as in May this year and 0.1 p.p. lower than in June 2022.

The average in June this year was 5.9 percent in the EU and 6.4 percent in the eurozone. The figures did not change compared to the previous month.

Unemployment in Poland is consistently well below the EU average, but that’s not all. With 2.7 percent in June this year, we ranked second in the European Union in terms of the lowest unemployment rate - together with the Czech Republic. Only Malta fared better with a score of 2.6 percent. So we have reason to be proud. All this proves the effectiveness of the government’s labor market policy - pointed out Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy.

Domestic data also gives reasons for optimism

Domestic data also confirms the good situation in the labor market. Statistics Poland confirmed the Ministry of Family and Social Policy’s forecast for the unemployment rate in June this year, which stood at 5 percent, compared to 5.1 percent a month earlier.

A comparison of the level of unemployment at the end of June this year to that at the end of February 2020, i.e. just before the COVID-19 epidemic, shows that the registered unemployment rate today is 0.5 percentage points lower - pointed out Minister Marlena Maląg.
