Since the beginning of the “Family 500+” programme, i.e. since April 2016, families have already received PLN 148 billion and support covers 6.6 million children. The quality of life of many families has improved in real terms over more than 5 years.

The year 2021 has brought changes to the “Family 500+” programme – from now on, the right to receive a parental benefit is set for the period from 1 June to 31 May of the following year.

Parent, submit an application for parental benefit

– This new benefit period starts today. This year, unlike the previous year, it is necessary to submit an application to continue receiving the benefit. In order to keep the continuity of payment of parental benefit, it was necessary to submit an application for the new benefit period by the end of April – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Many parents have done so. So far, more than 3.38 million applications have been submitted online. In total, the number of applications submitted by traditional and electronic means was more than 3.94 million.

– Applications can still be submitted, I particularly encourage to use electronic means – through electronic banking, Empatia portal or PUE ZUS. It is a very simple, quick and safe solution – reassures Minister Maląg.

Note!

Important information for parents and guardians is that only the submission of an application by the end of June guarantees that parental benefit will be paid with compensation from 1 June. Therefore, those who have not submitted an application yet should not be too long.
