The Family 800+ program is about to become a reality. On Friday, the Senate passed without any corrections an amendment to the bill on state aid for raising children increasing the child-rearing benefit to PLN 800 starting next year. The bill will soon be submitted for signing by President Andrzej Duda.
Supporting families is an investment - children are the future of Poland. We are adjusting the amount of the support to the current needs of Polish families. It’s also money that families can allocate according to their needs - for a holiday trip, additional education, various kinds of activities, etc. The Family 500+ program has provided Polish families with approx. 250 billion zlotys of support, which helps cover the needs of about 7 million children each month. By raising the benefit to PLN 800, we are taking another step towards a better and secure future for our children - said Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy.
The 800+ program without the need for any additional applications
The change in the amount of the child-rearing benefit from PLN 500 to PLN 800 will be made ex officio and will not require any additional decisions or applications.
During meetings with families, we inform parents and guardians that the change in the amount of the benefit will not require them to do take any extra steps. I emphasize this very clearly, because scammers do not waste any opportunity to trick people of your money or personal data. Every now and then we hear about these kinds of attempts. Dear parents, don’t let them cheat you! - appealed Minister of Family Marlena Maląg.
Meetings with families take the form, among others, of family picnics organized as part of the information campaign on the changes to the Family 500+ program. Dedicated buses have also set off to different destinations. The goal of the campaign is to provide reliable information to parents and caregivers.
