Intergenerational Activity Day is a great opportunity to emphasise the role of intergenerational solidarity being the foundation of the Government’s programmes and actions dedicated to elderly persons.

During the Tuesday event in Żyrardów, participants of the Senior+ program from all parts of Poland as well as children will have their five minutes on stage. On dedicated stands, the participants of the event also could share their interests, present their handicraft and show what they do every day. Intergenerational Activity Day in Żyrardów was filled with meetings, conversations, an exchange of experiences and, primarily, good fun.

‘My heart grows when we can meet together in this Intergenerational Activity Day,’ said the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg to the participants. The head of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy spoke of programmes addressed to families and elderly persons. ‘When I meet seniors and young people, I feel honoured. I feel that these four years have been a good time for Polish families,’ she added.

Minister Marlena Maląg announced also the adoption of the draft act on the fourteenth pension by the Council of Ministers.

The culmination point of the Tuesday event was the signature of the Thirteenth Pension Act by President Andrzej Duda.
