Although some time has already passed since the start of the 2024/2025 school year, latecomers still have the chance to apply for the benefit under the “Good Start” programme, namely PLN 300 for the school starter pack. However, you need to hurry! The applications may only be submitted until the end of November this year.

How do I apply for a benefit?

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) handles applications and grants benefits under the “Good Start” programme.

The procedure for applications is the same as for the other benefits, such as the “Family 800+” programme. The application may be submitted online through:

• PUE ZUS portal and mZUS mobile application,

• Emp@tia information and services portal at https://empatia.mpips.gov.pl/,

• electronic banking.

The funds will be transferred to the designated account  within 2 months of filing the application.

Who is eligible for the “Good Start”?

The “Good Start” benefit may be granted once a year in respect of a child studying at school until they attain the age of 20 (up to the age of 24 for children with disabilities).

The benefit does not cover children attending kindergarten, so-called pre-school and university students.
