Important information for the citizens of Ukraine interested in working in Poland
23.03.2022
A citizen of Ukraine can start working in Poland without having a work permit. An employer only needs to remember to confirm this fact within 14 days on the website praca.gov.pl.
- Due to the influx of many citizens of Ukraine to Poland, there may be persons or companies who want to take advantage of the difficult situation and the lack of knowledge of the Polish language and regulations – for example, by requiring non-existent fees or documents.
Remember that all services of district labour offices are free of charge
Important guidelines:
- When looking for employment in Poland, it is best to use proven and reliable services and job offers. Access to such proven job offers is provided by the District Labour Offices (https://oferty.praca.gov.pl). If you have a smartphone, you can install the ePraca app.
- Valuable guidelines on how to look for an employer abroad and not expose ourselves to unnecessary risks can be found on the EURES network website - https://eures.praca.gov.pl/zal/2020-bezpieczne.pdf
- The list of certified Polish employment agencies can be found on the website: www.stor.praca.gov.pl in the Register of Entities Running Employment Agencies tab. Additional information can also be obtained by phone at the Voivodeship Labour Offices.
In the case of taking up employment working through an agency, we must remember to conclude an agreement with the employment agency, which will provide the working conditions, remuneration, due benefits, etc.
- National Labour Inspectorate – provides free legal advice on the legislation governing the legality of employment and the rights of employees. Information is also available in Ukrainian and Russian. For more information, please visit https://www.gov.pl/web/pip/nieodplatne-porady-prawne

Remember:
When you take up employment, an employer is obliged to conclude a written employment contract with you, specifying the working and remuneration conditions. Inducing anyone to work without an employment contract is illegal in Poland!
! Do not agree to take up employment without signing a contract in writing. Without a signed contract, you work illegally and are deprived of rights resulting from legal employment.
! Before signing an employment contract, read the terms and conditions contained therein or ask someone to explain and help you understand its provisions
! If you are treated improperly by an employer, e.g., when the employer used physical or mental coercion against you – definitely report this issue to the National Labour Inspectorate.
If you have become a victim of any other crime – contact the Police immediately.
