The Council of Ministers has adopted a proposal to change the amounts of income criteria entitling to social assistance benefits from 1 January 2025, submitted by Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
From 1 January 2025, the income criteria for social assistance will increase. The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy proposes that for a single person the criterion should be PLN 1010 and for a person in a family PLN 823. The change in the amounts of the income criteria will also have an impact on the increase in the amounts of cash benefits related to the Law on social assistance. The government's proposal will be referred to the Social Dialogue Council.
Income criteria for social assistance are reviewed every 3 years. In its proposal, the government has taken into account the results of a social intervention threshold study, carried out in 2024 by the Institute of Labour and Social Affairs.
