Jubilee of the 40th anniversary of the St. Brother Albert Aid Society. Minister Maląg presented awards

Helping those who are most needy is the most beautiful expression of our humanity – said the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg during the Saturday jubilee of the 40th anniversary of the St. Brother Albert Aid Society. At the ceremony, the Minister presented, on behalf of President Andrzej Duda, state decorations – gold, silver and bronze Crosses of Merit.
The jubilee of the 40th anniversary of the St. Brother Albert Aid Society was held on Saturday in Wrocław. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg, who, inter alia, read a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Cross of Merit for work for the poorest and homeless
The Minister, on behalf of President Andrzej Duda, also presented state decorations – gold, silver and bronze Crosses of Merit. 9 people in total received them – for their activity for the poorest and homeless.
The Cross of Merit, established in 1923, is awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland to persons who rendered service to the state or citizens by performing acts exceeding the scope of their regular duties, and bringing significant benefits to the state or citizens, charitable public activity, charitable helping and charitable activities.
Primus in Agendo Honorary Badge of the Minister of Family and Social Policy
During the Saturday jubilee, Minister Maląg also presented the Primus in Agendo Honorary Badges of the Minister of Family and Social Policy. Awarding the badge by the Minister of Family and Social Policy is an expression of recognition for the active, fully committed and dedicated attitude of an awarded person, the most interesting and valuable initiatives, innovative achievements and innovative projects, as well as reliability and dedication in the activities undertaken. On Saturday, the Primus in Agendo badges were awarded to persons who were also awarded the Cross of Merit.
St. Brother Albert Aid Society
The St. Brother Albert Aid Society is an independent Catholic charity organisation. The Society has been operating since 1981. It is the first non-governmental organisation in Poland that got involved in helping the homeless. Currently, it has 2.3 thousand members organised in 64 groups. Each group tries to organise a shelter, kitchen or other form of help for the homeless and poor.
The St. Brother Albert Aid Society runs 170 residence facilities, where about 4 thousand people stay.
„Overcome Homelessness. Assistance Programme for the Homeless”
The Ministry of Family and Social Policy implements the „Overcome Homelessness. Assistance Programme for the Homeless”. Its main objective is to inspire and support activities aimed at counteracting and addressing the problem of homelessness, as well as to inspire the implementation of new methods of working with the homeless and social and professional activation programmes for these people. So far, more PLN 8 million has been spent on its implementation this year.
