24.06.2022
According to the Statistics Poland’s figures, the unemployment rate in May amounted to 5.1%. This is a decrease both in relation to April and to the same period last year.
Thus, the Statistics Poland confirmed the previous estimates of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. According to the Statistics Poland’s figures, in May 850.2 thousand people were registered with labour offices, by 27.7 thousand people fewer than in April and by 176.5 thousand fewer than the year before.
At the end of May, the registered unemployment rate ranged from 2.8% in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship to 7.9% in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.
The good situation in the labour market in Poland is also confirmed by the Eurostat’s figures for April. It results from them that once again Poland was in the lead of the European countries with the lowest unemployment together with Germany (3%). Only the Czech Republic was better with a result of 2.4%. On the other hand, the highest unemployment rates were recorded in Spain (13.3%), Greece (12.7%) and Italy (8.4%).
