Meeting with employers about access to the Polish labour market

During the videoconference the possibilities and facilitations concerning support by employers of Ukrainian citizens in taking up employment in Poland were discussed.

Work is to be dignified

Most of the newcomers are women with children. - It is important for us that the main support after the adaptation period consists in opening the labour market for them - said Minister Maląg. She added that the legalisation of stay in Poland means the right to work, and for children the right to family benefits.

Minister Maląg stressed that work should be dignified, with respect for the Labour Code regulations and equal treatment of all employees.

The directors of labour offices have already been asked to ensure that all administrative issues related to the legalisation of employment of Ukrainian citizens handled in labour offices are dealt with without undue delay.

A special law is being drafted

Minister Marlena Maląg reminded that a special law is being drafted, regulating temporarily the rules of entry and stay of foreigners fleeing the threat caused by the war in Ukraine. It will also contain provisions on facilitating foreigners' access to the labour market.

During the meeting, it was reminded of the sources of useful knowledge that are active and updated on a regular basis, such as websites: www.pomagamukrainie.gov.pl, www.praca.gov.pl, the Green Line portal and hotline (tel. 19 524) or the e-Job application. Entrepreneurs can report job offers there and citizens of Ukraine can look for employment.
