Millions in support of persons with disabilities at the labour market.

Developing and testing new forms of support for the employers of persons with disabilities, and instruments to help persons with disabilities to start a business, or to seek out and maintain employment. These are the head objectives of the premiering project “Including the excluded – active support instruments for persons with disabilities at the labour market.” Nearly PLN 26 million to be allocated for that goal.

The project will be implemented by the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled in partnership with the Polish Association of the Deaf, Polish Organisation of Employers of People with Disabilities and the Czas, Przestrzeń, Tożsamość Association. On 28 January, Paweł Wdówik, Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled and the Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy signed a partnership agreement which begins the implementation of the project.

Project objectives

The project aims to prepare a complex proposal for the implementation of introducing new or modified instruments in support of professional activity to the legal system – employment and remaining on the labour market of persons with disabilities:

  • an instrument in support of employers in the process of adjusting a person with disability to employment, obtaining an employee with disability, maintaining employment by limiting the consequences of disability,
  • an instrument in support of persons with disabilities with respect to finding employment, including moving between social and professional rehabilitation,
  • instrument in support of persons with disabilities with respect to undertaking business activity.

The project will result in increasing the quality of measures implemented by public and private institutions for social and professional activation of persons with disabilities, in particular directed towards supporting the employment of persons with disabilities in the open labour market.

The project will be implemented under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development for 2014-2020, Activity 2.6 High quality social and professional inclusion of persons with disabilities. The total value amounts to PLN 25,960,062.61.

The project will be implemented until 30 June 2023.
