Minister Marlena Maląg handed promises within the Strategic Investment Programme

The Strategic Investment Programme is the answer to the post-pandemic situation. It is money which is supposed to help local governments to create good things, to carry out tasks for the benefit of inhabitants - said Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg during her visit to Jarocin on Monday. In total, the Wielkopolska region will receive nearly PLN 2.8 billion in the second edition of the programme. The Minister of Family handed promises within the Strategic Investment Programme to the local governments of Jarocin, Pleszew and Kalisz.
Governmental Fund "Polish Deal": Strategic Investment Programme aims to increase the scale of public investment through non-refundable subsidies for investments made by local government units. The results of the second edition of the programme were announced last week by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Funding was awarded to the implementation of almost 5,000 projects in all regions of Poland. Support will be granted to all local governments which have submitted at least one application.
Most funds were allocated for road investments (PLN 14.28 billion), water and sewage system investments (PLN 4.88 billion) and investments in sports infrastructure (PLN 2.51 billion). The funds have been earmarked, among other things, for the construction or modernisation of over 3,500 km of roads, 5,000 km of pavements, over 600 km of bicycle paths and over 90 nurseries and kindergartens.
In total, local government units will receive more than PLN 30 billion under the second edition, of which nearly PLN 2.8 billion will go to local governments in the Wielkopolskie voivodship. In this region alone, the government will co-finance 504 projects.
The aim of precise and effective help from the government is to make Poland develop dynamically. The Strategic Investments Programme is the next step to contribute to the development of our local communities - said Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg on Monday in Kalisz.
Promises to local governments in Wielkopolska
In Kalisz the Minister handed promises within the Strategic Investment Programme to the local governments. The district and municipalities in the district of Kalisz will receive a total of PLN 162.6 million. The funds will be earmarked for the repair and construction of roads, the expansion of the public kindergarten in Koźminek, the construction of a nursery in Opatówek and the construction of a Selective Municipal Waste Collection Point in the municipality of Brzeziny.
These are projects which will allow you, the local government, to implement the investments you have applied for. This is the effect of good cooperation between local government and the government, which will ensure that what is most important and most needed in your region will be realised," said Minister Marlena Maląg.
Similar events took place in Jarocin and Pleszew
The district and municipalities in the district of Pleszew will receive PLN 69.5 million, which will allow, inter alia, for the improvement of road infrastructure and the construction of a school gym.
In turn, the district and municipalities in the district of Jarocin will receive PLN 70 million to, among others, expand and rebuild the public kindergarten and modernise the water treatment plant.

In the first, last year's edition of the government programme, over 4 thousand projects were subsidised to the amount of PLN 23 billion. Support was then granted to 97% of local governments.
