More good news for workers and small businesses
31.05.2023
Improving the qualifications of employees and extending the small ZUS for micro entrepreneurs are the latest measures undertaken for the sake of Poles. Details were presented on Wednesday by Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg, Minister of Economic Development and Technology Waldemar Buda and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Family and Social Policy Stanisław Szwed.
Development of professional skills
Minister Marlena Maląg inaugurated the European Year of Skills, which commenced at the beginning of May. It will be a series of meetings and expert discussions, which are to lead to the development of further tools that will contribute to the development of employees' professional skills.
'We live in a time of dynamic changes in the labour market, driven by developing digitisation and new technologies. Our task, as those in power, is to create such solutions and tools thanks to which young people who are starting their professional path and employees already present on the labour market will be properly prepared for the changing conditions,' Minister Marlena Maląg said.
The Ministry of Family and Social Policy will coordinate all initiatives undertaken as part of the European Year of Skills.
Small ZUS plus for the next 12 months
This solution is aimed at entrepreneurs whose last-year income was at most PLN 120,000 and who took advantage of the relief in 2023. This solution will enable small companies to save up to several hundred zlotys per month.
'We are doing our best to counteract the rising costs of running companies in Poland, which result primarily from the Covid-19 pandemic and the war behind our eastern border. Small ZUS plus is a relief known to our entrepreneurs and willingly used by them,' Minister Waldemar Buda pointed out.
Small ZUS plus is to come into force on 1 August this year. The author of these regulations is the Ministry of Family and Social Policy and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
Around 300,000 businesses will benefit from this additional relief. These are perfect solutions for the smallest companies, for which we care a lot. Small enterprises are the strength of the Polish economy and should be appropriately taken care of,' Marlena Maląg said.
According to data from December last year, 235.7 thousand people have already benefited from Mały ZUS plus.
