New benefit period of the Family 500+ programme has started

On 1 June, a new benefit period under the „Family 500+” programme begins. More than 6 million children have already been granted the child-raising benefit.
The Family 500+ programme is universal. The benefit is granted for every child in the family below 18, regardless of income or the number of children in the family. The submission of applications for granting the child-raising benefit for the new benefit period of 2022/2023 started on 1 February.
Deadlines for granting benefits
In order to maintain the continuity of payments, the application had to be submitted by 30 April. Then, the granting of the child-raising benefit and its payment for June will take place by 30 June at the latest.
If the application was submitted between 1 May and 31 May, the determination of the right to and payment of the granted benefit for June and July will take place no later than by 31 July.
For parents and guardians who submit an application between 1 June and 30 June 2022, the granted benefit for June, July and August will be determined and paid no later than by 31 August. When an application is submitted after 30 June, the child-raising benefit will be granted as from the month of submitting the application – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
So far, as part of the programme, parents and guardians have submitted applications covering 6.59 million children. The benefits have been granted for the vast majority of them, as for more than 6 million.
Online applications
Applications can be submitted only electronically – on the Empatia portal of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, through the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) of ZUS or via electronic banking.
As part of the Family 500+ programme, which has been lasting since 1 April 2016, families have already received more than PLN 188 billion.
