New technologies team has started
23.01.2020
An expert team in the field of new technologies and privacy established by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Affairs has just started working. ‘Our goal is to work out the best possible solutions for the protection of children on the Internet while respecting rights and freedoms of adults,’ explains Deputy Minister Barbara Socha, Government Plenipotentiary for Demographic Policy.
The first meeting of the expert team in the field of new technologies and privacy established by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Affairs took place on 23rd January 2020.
‘The aim of the team’s work is to analyse methods and tools of protection of children against pornography and to elaborate proposed solutions that would improve children protection while respecting rights and freedoms of adults,’ explains Deputy Minister Barbara Socha, Government Plenipotentiary for Demographic Policy.
The first meeting was devoted mainly to organisational matters. The participants presented the main assumptions of the draft act by the Twoja Sprawa [Your Matter] Association and summarised currently applicable legal provisions. They also discussed currently functioning parental control tools available on the market.
‘We have also decided to set up two expert sub-groups – the first one will analyse effective age verification tools in technological and privacy respects. The second sub-group will analyse other currently available solutions aimed at protecting children against too easy access to pornography and possibilities of their broader use,’ indicates Deputy Minister Barbara Socha.
